Music Ministry

Music is a vital part of worship in our church, and our Sanctuary Choir makes a tremendous contribution to that worship.  Our choir is composed of both youth and adults and is under the direction of Mrs. Cecelia Hensley, our music director and accompanist.

Our choir rehearses weekly, except during the season of Advent when they hold additional rehearsals to prepare for their annual Christmas Musical.  We do not require an audition of our vocalists and invite anyone who enjoys singing to come and join us.  From time to time, members of our choir will also sing solos, duets, or lead during one of our 5th Sunday music nights.

Our Music Director and Accompanist:

Mrs. Cecelia Hensley has loved music all her life and studied it since she was ten years of age.  She began as a church pianist when she was still a teenager at Newbridge Baptist Church in Asheville, North Carolina.  Her instruction has included several years of piano and two years of organ training.  She has been an accompanist for churches in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.  In addition to directing our choir, helping to plan services of worship and playing our piano and organ, Cecelia is a Teacher's Assistant in Special Education for the Cleveland County School System.  You may email Cecelia at ceceliah@kmbaptist.org.
