A Word From Our Pastor

We are pleased that you have chosen to visit our church website, and we hope that you will choose to visit us not only online but in person.  Kings Mountain Baptist Church is a small community of believers that worships in the heart of downtown Kings Mountain.  When you become a part of our congregation, you will be given the help and guidance you need to discover and seek to live out your personal and public relationship with God.  In addition, you will have the opportunity to share mutual spiritual support with other believers who are equally committed to Jesus Christ.

Of course, when you visit Kings Mountain Baptist Church, you will not find here a perfect church, perfect leaders, or a perfect pastor.  What you will find is a group of people who know that they are saved sinners, and who are striving each day to know and serve God better.  If you are looking for a community of believers like this, we would love to have you, and as I often remind worshipers on Sunday mornings -- you don't have to bring along any credentials -- all you have to do is come with an open heart, committed to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Should you have a spiritual need you would like to discuss with a pastor, or questions about our church, please don't hesitate to contact me.  I will look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to respond to your questions.  Also, please be sure to visit our worship page to read something about our theology and style of worship.  We welcome you to come and worship with us or participate in any other ministry we may offer.  God bless you and we will look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

Our Pastor:

Dr. Jeff L. Hensley has been our pastor since 2002.  Pastor Hensley is a native of Asheville, NC and has served churches in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.  He was educated at Mars Hill College, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary.  He and his wife, Cecelia, have two sons, Christopher and Alexander, and they lost one son, Nicholas, to Muscular Dystrophy in January of 2007.  Pastor Hensley is active in the local ministerial associations, participates in two scholarly societies, and writes a weekly column for our local newspaper, the Kings Mountain Herald.  You may email Pastor Hensley at jeffh@kmbaptist.org or you may contact him at the church office.
