Youth & Children

Our youth and children are a very important part of our church.   Christopher White is our current student staff member responsible for youth & children's ministries.

The on-going ministries we offer to our youth & children typically include Bible study through the Sunday School and our VBS in the summer, missions education through our Children in Action, and opportunities to participate in our worship services.  We also have an annual "Youth Day" in the Spring when our young people are given the chance to have almost complete leadership over a worship service.  In addition, we welcome youth into our Sanctuary Choir and they occasionally sing solos on Sunday mornings or for our 5th Sunday music nights.  Each of these on-going ministries are led by both our Youth & Children's Minister and a number of volunteer leaders.

In addition to these on-going ministries, we offer an emphasis ministry for youth & children that Christopher is responsible for, with the added help of parents.  This ministry provides our young people opportunities to go to summer camps, attend concerts, ball games, or movies, participate in community mission projects, and have lots of fun and learning in a wholesome Christian environment.

Christopher also leads a "weekly youth gathering" that meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.  Our summer camps have included trips for the youth to Centrifuge or Caswell and trips to Hickory Cove Bible Camp for the children.  This is just a few of the many activities that our youth and children participate in each year.  For more on these ministries, you can email Christopher or call the church office at 704-739-2516.

Our Youth and Children's Minister:

On Sunday, September 24, 2006, our church voted to call Mr. Christopher White as our part-time Youth and Children's Minister.  Christopher is from Colombia and was raised in Peabody, Massachusetts.  He was educated at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is working toward an MDiv/MBA at Gardner-Webb University.  Of his ministry, Christopher says, "God is my passion, and Jesus is my love, and my hope and prayer is that the young people and I will continually develop and grow in our relationship to Him."  You may email Christopher at christopherw@kmbaptist.org.
